Mr. John David Taylorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what additional financial resources have been allocated by the European Community to those areas in the United Kingdom which suffered severe storms and flooding during the month of October.
§ Mr. LawsonThe Commission decided on 21 October to provide 300,000 ecu (£210,000) in emergency aid to the most needy families of those who died or were injured in England as a result of the storm of 15–16 October.
On 28 October the Commission decided to provide a further 200,000 ecu (£140,000) in emergency aid for the families of those killed or in greatest need as a result of the flooding in Wales and Northern Ireland between 18 and 21 October.
