HC Deb 05 November 1987 vol 121 c844W
Mr. Heddle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to extend the facility of his Department's estate action team to housing associations and housing societies; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

Estate Action was set up in June 1985 specifically to help local authorities tackle the problems of their rundown estates. We focused on the local authority sector because all our evidence suggested that the major difficulties lay in this area. At present I have no plans to extend the activities of the Estate Action team to housing associations and housing societies.
