asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the totals of profits and dividends repatriated to Britain from the Third world and to the Third world from Britain in each of the last five years.

The available information relates to overseas direct investment. The value of branch profits and dividends remitted to the United Kingdom from affiliates of United Kingdom companies in the developing countries and the value of branch profits and dividends remitted from United Kingdom companies to their parent companies in the developing countries are given in the table.

The data relating to United Kingdom outward investment will be published in Business Monitor MA4 1985 in approximately two months' time.
