§ Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will give particulars of each of the meetings of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council held since the signing of the Hillsborough agreement.
§ Sir Geoffrey HoweI have been asked to reply.
The Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council has continued to provide a framework for a wide variety of meetings between our two Governments. These include the meetings of the Intergovernmental Conference established by the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985, which was explicitly set up within the framework of the ADC. There have been a number of meetings at all the levels since the conclusion of the agreement, including those of the ADC co-ordinating committee and its cultural and educational working group.
