§ 70. Mr. Tony Lloydasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on central Government support for housing initiatives in the city of Manchester and the borough of Trafford.
§ Mr. WaldegraveIn Manchester, my Department's estate action unit approved additional capital allocations of £1,048,000 in 1986–87 and £915,000 in 1987–88 for work to the Miles Platting council estate; and £351,000 in 1986–87 to help the homeless. Urban programme grant for environmental work at Miles Platting has also been approved: £784,383 was available in 1986–87 and £1,270,232 this year.
Both Manchester and Trafford are expected to make bids shortly for estate action support for new schemes in 1987–88.
