HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 c551W
Mr. Tom Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals have been put to him by Greater Glasgow health board, concerning the future of Woodilee hospital; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The Greater Glasgow health board is currently reviewing its strategy for mental illness services across the whole of its area. The long-term future of Woodilee hospital will be dependent on the outcome of that review. My Department has had discussions with the board about the interim measures it has taken so far at Woodilee following the evacuation of the hospital's main block earlier this year, and is currently considering proposals for further measures.
