HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 c602W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the cost of current military defence arrangements against nuclear attack; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The Government's whole defence strategy is designed to deter a potential aggressor from any form of attack. Many of our military defence arrangements are designed to counter more than one form of attack and it is therefore not possible separately to identify the cost of the arrangements against one particular form of attack.
