asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will accept as valid all application forms under the provisions of the British Nationality Act 1981 received by his Department by 31 December, thus permitting corrections to be made after the deadline.

Mr. Renton

We will normally he prepared to treat applications received on or before 31 December 1987 as if they had been valid even though the application form was not correctly completed, provided the applicant makes good the defect within a reasonable time of being requested to do so.
