HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 c531W
Mr. Strang

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many of the responses to the Green Paper "Trade Unions and Their Members" were in favour of the proposal that immunity should be removed from all industrial action designed to create or maintain a closed shop; how many were against the proposal; and how many did not express an opinion.

Mr. Nicholls

Responses to the Green Paper "Trade Unions and Their Members" and comments on particular proposals have been treated in confidence by my Department. I can tell the hon. Gentleman, however, that a substantial majority of those who commented on this proposal expressed approval.
