HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 cc584-5W
Rev. Martin Smyth

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will list all moneys paid either to Haringey council for use on projects on the Broadwater Farm estate, or to the Broadwater Farm youth association, by his Department in the last three years, giving revenue and capital expenditures and the amounts and projects in each case.

Mr. Trippier

Over the past three years the following urban programme funding approvals have been given, by my Department for projects at Broadwater Farm estate. Those projects involving direct funding for the youth association are asterisked. The remainder are those of Haringey borough council.

Islington and Hackney has paid in grants to the Irish in Britain Representation Group, stating capital and revenue grants; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

None, since the Department does not collect systematic information about discretionary grants by local authorities.
