Mr. Campbell-Savours

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) whether he will make a statement as to whether the Government intend to indemnify financial institutions in the United States and the United Kingdom involved in the protection of BP agent cases arising from their underwriting commitments;

(2) whether he will place in the Library a copy of the contract terms entered into by Her Majesty's Government with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Sheerson Lehman and Salomon Brothers for the underwriting of the BP share flotation.
