§ Mr. Peter BottomleyInitial investigations are now in hand. We hope to put forward proposals for public consultation in autumn 1988 and announce a preferred route in 1989. Subject to the results of further investigations and the satisfactory completion of statutory procedures, construction could start late in 1992.
