§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the cost of repairing the damage caused by the disturbance at Peterhead prison earlier in the current year; how much of the cost falls upon (a) public funds and (b) the insurance company; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LangThe cost of making good the damage to A hall at Peterhead prison is estimated at £260,000. This cost falls upon public funds since it is not Government practice to undertake insurance.
