§ Mr. BiffenUp to and including 13 May 1987, 58,770 oral and 124,284 written questions had appeared on the Notice Paper. An estimate of the total cost of answering these questions is not readily available and I refer my hon. Friend to the current average cost figures given in my answer to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Littleborough and Saddleworth (Mr. Dickens) on 27 April,Official Report, column 56.
