§ 8. Mr. Duffyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps he is taking to end discrimination in employment against Catholics in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. ViggersReligious discrimination in employment is illegal in Northern Ireland and we are determined that it should be eliminated. Proposals to strengthen existing laws and institutions were published last September in a consultative paper, "Equality of Opportunity in Employment in Northern Ireland". We are now considering the many comments received on this document, with a view to legislation and any other necessary action.
