§ Lord Moranasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether, in the light of the statement by the Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on 28th July 1986 (H.L. Deb. col. 712) that the Government would endeavour to ensure that statutory procedures were completed in time for all the measures to restrict drift netting for salmon announced on 7th November 1986 (H.L. Deb. col. 129) to be in force by the start of the 1987 season, they can confirm that all these measures are now in force.
§ Lord BelsteadI can confirm that the measures to restrict drift netting for salmon in the English northeast fishery which my right honourable friend the Minister of State announced on 7th November 1985, were in force by the start of the 1987 season.
