§ Mr. AncramMy right hon. and learned Friend has decided to initiate a two-year research project to monitor change in landscape features in Scotland. The project will involve a full aerial photographic survey of the country, to be carried out by Planning and Mapping Ltd. It is hoped that the survey will make a valuable contribution to our understanding of the changes taking place in the countryside. The information provided will be of considerable value to researchers and will enable further monitoring and analysis to take place. It will also provide a better factual base on which to take decisions and make plans for the future.
