§ Mr. TrippierThere were about 3.2 million business visits made by overseas residents to the United Kingdom in 1986, compared with about 5.9 million visits by foreign holidaymakers. In addition there were 2.9 million visits to the United Kingdom for the purpose of visiting friends and relatives, and 1.8 million for other purposes including study.
