§ Mr. David MitchellThe Government do not receive information from BR when it places its rolling stock orders. We receive information in support of BR's 489W investment submissions, but for reasons of commercial confidentiality it is not the practice to make this information public. As I explained in my earlier answer to the hon. Gentleman, questions on the reliability of the pacer units are the responsibility for the British Railways board and the manufacturers.
