10. Mr. Bob Edwardsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many cases are currently awaiting decisions by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board; and how many of these have been waiting for more than 12 months.
§ Mr. MellorAt the end of March 1987, the board had about 64,000 uncompleted cases. These included a number in which the board awaited the results of inquiries and about 8,000 cases in which it had made an initial decision. No record is kept of how many of the outstanding cases have been waiting for more than 12 months.
