HC Deb 05 May 1987 vol 115 c344W
Mr. Steen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will review the operation of the Wildlife and Countryside Act in the light of the Nature Conservancy Council's decision to designate the entire Salcombe estuary as a site of special scientific interest, without first consulting or discussing the matter with the South Hams district council or the hon. Member for South Hams.

Mr. Waldegrave

No. I am satisfied that the Nature Conservancy Council acted in accordance with its statutory obligations in this case.
