§ Mr. Michael Forsythasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, further to his answer of 29 April 1986, Official Report, column 148, how many of the 28 contracts awarded went to private sector organisations; and in each 402W case if he will list the bid submitted by the in-house organisation and that by the most competitive private company.
§ Mr. John MacKayFour out of the 28 contracts which had been put out to tender by the end of 1986 were awarded to the private sector. Information is not collected centrally in individual tendering exercises undertaken by health boards.
