§ Mr. MellorThere has been a great deal of research on this subject. Three recent major studies are referred to in "Criminal Justice: A Working Paper", a copy of which is in the Library. An account of present and proposed studies funded by the Home Office will be included in the Home Office research programme 1987–88, which is to be published shortly.
