§ Mr. MellorThe information which is readily available to me and is known to be incomplete, relates to applications for orders in civil care proceedings under the Children and Young Persons Act 1969. This indicates that there were about 5,200 such applications in 1984, and 5,600 in 1985. Information for 1986, and for the first quarter of 1987, is not yet available.
