§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, pursuant to the answer of 25 March to the hon. Member for Leicester, East, he will take steps to collect centrally the statistics of the occasions in the last five years on which a person on bail to which the police had objected committed offences of (a) murder and (b) rape.
§ Mr. MellorRetrospective studies of this type would not be feasible but we are considering the possibility of initiating studies to obtain information of the kind requested in future.
