§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Baroness Trumpington)Information on the number of claimants whose benefit was restricted by regulations in force between December 1984 and April 1985 was not collected. We estimate that roughly 10,000 unemployed claimants were affected who will he entitled to arrears amounting to roughly £1 million. The regulations affected by the Court of Appeal's judgment have been revoked by subsequent legislation.
