asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the total number of nurses involved only in community care for each of the years from 1980 to 1986, inclusive.

The table shows all nursing and midwifery staff recorded as working in the Primary Health Care area of work, for each year from 1980 to 1985.

I regret that figures for 1986 are not yet available to this level of detail.
