§ 37. Mr. George Howarthasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what discussions he has had regarding the impact on the fishing Industry, of the introduction of light dues.
§ Mr. GummerMy Department and other Fisheries Departments have been closely involved with the Department of Transport in its consideration of the use which fishing vessels make of coastal navigation aids, and the impact which an extension of light dues liability to fishing vessels might have on the industry. On 12 March my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport announced in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Banff and Buchan (Mr. McQuarrie) that he would be consulting the fishing industry about the scale of charges and appropriate administrative arrangements.
§ 38. Mr. Austine Mitchellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how he proposes to compensate the Grimsby fishing fleet for the loss of fishing opportunities and income consequent on the reduced North sea quotas for 1987.
