§ Dr. Michael Clarkasked the Secretary of State for Energy what estimates his Department has made of the area required to build a farm of windmills capable of producing 2,000 MW.
Mr. David Hunt: An installation of 2,000 MW would probably spread over a number of separate sites. It is estimated that the total land area required might be up to between 200 and 250 square miles although there is still considerable uncertainty about this.
