§ Mr. WaldenThe number of science and engineering graduates last year was some 30 per cent. higher than in 1979. Measures already in train, including the engineering and technology programme, are likely to generate a further seven per cent. increase by 1990. Further initiatives will be considered in the light of the economy's developing need for graduates in particular disciplines.
