HC Deb 16 March 1987 vol 112 c424W
Mr. Maclennan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to ensure a greater degree of access to the French non-pedigree and pure breed markets for United Kingdom sheep producers; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gummer

[pursuant to his reply, 6 March 1987, c. 733]: In April 1986 the Government introduced a new form of animal health certification to cover the export of breeding sheep from the United Kingdom to France. This certification, which enables United Kingdom producers to gain access to this market, was agreed with the French authorities after lengthy and detailed discussions.
