Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether a computer is used to store any information that is given on the application form for a vaccine damage payment; and which information is regularly collated.

Mr. Lyell

Information given on vaccine damage payment claim forms is not stored on computer but information about the country and year of vaccination and the age of people awarded vaccine damage payments is regularly collected and collated by clerical means.

Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will give for each five-year period since 1957 the number of vaccine damage payments made;

It is estimated that if the upper earnings limit for employees' class 1 national insurance contributions were
