Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what representations he has received (a) supporting the Government's proposals for rates reform as set out in "Paying for Local Government" and (b) supporting the present system of local rates, as it is, or with some amendments and (c) advocating some other substantial change in the financing of local government;

(2) what representations he has received from local government organisations concerning the Government's proposed abolition of domestic rates.
