§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many appeals he has received from parents of dyslexic children in Surrey under sections 5(6) and 8(6) of the Education Act 1981 during each of the years since the Act came into force.
§ Mr. DunnThe provisions of the Education Act 1981 came into force on 1 April 1983. In 1983–84 and 1984–85 there were no appeals from parents of dyslexic children in Surrey under sections 5(6) and 8(6). In 1985–86 there was one appeal under section 5(6) and none under section 8(6). In 1986–87 there were two appeals under section 5(6) and none under section 8(6).
