§ Mrs. CurrieThe Department is not currently supporting research into Tay-Sach's disease, which is an inherited disorder, but research into safe methods of antenatal diagnosis is being carried out at Guy's hospital and King's college, London. The Medical Research Council, which is the main Government body for biomedical research in the United Kingdom and receives grant-in-aid from the science budget of the Department of Education and Science, supports a considerable amount of research into inherited disorders.
