asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what capital allocations he has made to health boards for 1987–88.

Mr. John MacKay

My right hon. and learned Friend has allocated £107.82 million to health boards to meet their gross capital expenditure commitments on hospital and community health services in 1987–88. This includes £21 million specifically for the improvement and upgrading of the NHS estate. In addition, a further £5 million will be made available for projects not specifically allocated to individual health boards.

The allocations to individual health boards are as follows:
