A major programme of redevelopment commenced in 1979 aimed at developing the hospital as one of East Berkshire's two main district general hospitals.160W From 1979 to date capital expenditure at Wexham park hospital has been £21.5 million, with a further £2.5 million remaining to be spent over the next two years.
