§ Mr. NewtonIt is for health authorities to allocate resources among their various health-care programmes in the light of local circumstances. On 23 December 1986 my right hon. Friend wrote to all district health authority chairmen stressing the importance which we attach to these services being provided with adequate resources, and additional allocations of money for services connected with AIDS have been made to the three health regions likely to be experiencing the greatest pressure.
