HL Deb 09 March 1987 vol 485 cc929-30WA
Lord Brougham and Vaux

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why the Metropolitan Police are not preventing commuter coaches from parking on yellow lines on Westminster Bridge, Millbank and side streets.

The Minister of State, Home Office (The Earl of Caithness)

The Metropolitan Police devote considerable resources to their continuous efforts to tackle illegal parking in London. Action against the illegal parking of coaches has however to take its place among other priorities for the deployment of traffic policing effort, including in recent weeks the consequences of the temporary closure of the Marylebone flyover.
