HC Deb 09 March 1987 vol 112 c20W
Mr. Sheerman

asked the Paymaster General how many Manpower Services Commission funded advice centres specifically for ethnic minorities, similar to the resource centre in Huddersfield there are in the United Kingdom; where they are, and if there are any plans to open other centres in the next year.

Mr. Lee

The information requested is not available centrally and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. Any plans for similar advice centres would be considered by Manpower Services Commission officials with the advice of the Area Manpower Board.

Mr. Sheerman

asked the Paymaster General how much money has been allocated for the Manpower Services Commission funded resource centre in Huddersfield for 1987.

Mr. Lee

The resource centre in Huddersfield is part of a project funded under the community programme. Approximately £53,000 has been allocated for the resource centre from the funding available to the project.
