Mr. Marlow

asked the Secretary of State for Defence why disciplinary action was not taken against the squadron leader who recently made repeated unauthorised statements to the press.

Mr. Freeman

As I informed the hon. Member on 2 March,Official Report, Col 528, action has been taken to remind him and all other officers of their obligation in regard to press statements. No disciplinary action was considered necessary in the specific case to which the hon. Member refers.
