asked the Paymaster General what indications he has of the proportion of total expenditure by the Manpower Services Commission on employment measures with an arts content.

Mr. Lee

It is estimated that in 1986–87 the Manpower Services Commission will spend about £21 million on arts-related projects through the community programme and the voluntary projects programme. The Commission will also spend about £9 million on supporting arts-related small businesses through the enterprise allowance scheme.
