§ Mr. Alan ClarkI most recently emphasised the need for the United Kingdom to receive equality of treatment with the United States of America on intellectual property rights when I met the Korean Vice-Minister for Trade and Industry last October; my right hon. Friend the Minister for Industry and Information Technology will take up this issue during his forthcoming visit to Korea.
The EC is also maintaining pressure on the Korean Government to apply retrospective protection multilaterally without discrimination in favour of the United States of America.
