Mr. Patrick Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received concerning the situation whereby medical equipment may be donated by a registered charity to a health authority without paying value-added tax on the purchase but that this relief is not available when the equipment is donated to a doctor's surgery; and if he will make a statement.
