HC Deb 02 March 1987 vol 111 c518W
Mr. Bowen Wells

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what are the latest arrangements that his alternate director agreed to in relation to the indebtedness of Jamaica and its ability to meet its obligations to the International Monetary Fund, International Bank of Reconstruction and Development, and International Development Association.

Mr. Ian Stewart

Jamaica is at present current in its obligations to the International Monetary Fund, the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association. Its requests for a standby arrangement and compensatory financing facility are to be considered by the IMF executive board on 2 March. Discussions of the executive board are confidential.
