HC Deb 30 June 1987 vol 118 cc62-3W
Mr. David Martin

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether it is proposed to change the cash limit on any departmental vote for which he has responsibility; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. MacGregor

Yes. Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary supplementary estimates, the cash limits on votes for which I and my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland are responsible will be increased in order to make provision for the purchase of milk quota in Great Britain for issue to Northern Ireland producers as announced to the House on 31 March 1987 at column 445.

The cash limit for Class IV Vote 4 (other Agricultural and Food Services and Support for the Fishing Industry) will be increased by £875,000 from £141,801,000 to £142,676,000 and that for Class XVI Vote 2 (Agricultural Services and Fisheries, Scotland) by £127,000 from £69,832,000 to £69,959,000. These increases will be contained within planned provision for programmes and will not involve a call on the reserve.
