§ Mr. Peter BottomleyIt is the Government's intention to upgrade the A74 between the M6 and the M74 to motorway standard. This is primarily a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland with whom I maintain close co-ordination on the need for road improvements on routes between our countries.
