§ Mr. Frank Fieldasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will provide figures comparable to those given to the right hon. Member for Bethnal Green and Stepney (Mr. Shore), Official Report, 17 July, of the weekly earnings after tax, national insurance and child benefit at (a) actual prices and (b) constant prices at April of (i) a single person, (ii) a married couple, (iii) a married couple with two children under 11 years of age and (iv) a married couple with four children, two under 11 years of age and one between 11 to 15 years of age and one over 16 years of age, whose gross earnings are not (1) lowest decile, (2) lowest quartile, (3) median, (4) upper quartile, and (5) highest decile for April 1979 under the June 1979 tax-benefit regime at April 1987.
§ Mr. Norman Lamont[pursuant to his reply, 23 July 1987]: The information requested cannot be estimated until the results of the 1987 "New Earnings Survey", which provides the detailed earnings distribution, become available towards the end of the year.
