HC Deb 24 July 1987 vol 120 cc661-2W
Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what estimate he has made of the likely cost of introducing the community charge in Wales, during the transition period, including the recruitment of staff, the installation of computer systems, extra furniture and fittings and the initial canvass.

Mr. Peter Walker

No estimate has been made but an assessment of costs will be considered in due course in discussion with the Welsh Consultative Council on Local Government Finance.
