§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the current amount of the budget available to the Offshore Supplies Office for the promotion abroad of British expertise in oil and gas technology; in which countries these promotions are made; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonDuring 1987–88, the Offshore Supplies Office budget for overseas promotion of the British offshore supplies industry is £443,000. This is more than 80 per cent. of OSO's total promotional budget. The office will take part in major industry events in Angola, Canada, China, Norway, the USA, and the USSR.
I intend to play the fullest role in supporting the export drive of British offshore supply companies through my overseas visits and through my meetings with all sectors of the oil and gas industry.
